Reaching up to God and Reaching out to people

In Mark 1:15, Jesus declares, "The time has come. The kingdom of God is near. Repent and believe the good news!" This proclamation, inspired by the Holy Spirit, prompts a response that leads to the formation of the church. It's this announcement of the kingdom that encourages our community to move toward the future when God's reign will be fully realized.

Reestablished on Earth, we are invited to embrace the kingdom as part of a community. The church serves as both a glimpse of the future and a catalyst for renewal as the everlasting kingdom unfolds around us. Habakkuk's prayer reflects our hopes as we look forward to the realization of this kingdom.

CORE BELIEFS

The Baptist Faith and Message 2000

📖 The Authority of Scripture

📖 The Authority of Scripture

Divinely Inspired: We believe the Holy Bible was written by men divinely inspired and is God’s revelation of Himself to man.

Total Truthfulness: All Scripture is totally true and trustworthy, serving as the supreme standard for all human conduct and religious opinions.

Focus on Christ: All Scripture is a testimony to Jesus Christ, who is Himself the focus of divine revelation.

✝️ God & Salvation

✝️ God & Salvation

The Trinity: There is one living and true God, eternally existing as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

Jesus Christ: Christ is the eternal Son of God, who provided for the redemption of men from sin through His substitutionary death on the cross.

Salvation by Grace: Salvation is offered freely to all who accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, involving regeneration (the new birth), justification, sanctification, and glorification.

⛪ The Church & Ordinances

⛪ The Church & Ordinances

Local Autonomy: A New Testament church is an autonomous local congregation of baptized believers.

Two Ordinances: We observe Baptism (immersion of a believer in water) and the Lord’s Supper as symbolic acts of obedience and testimony.

The Priesthood of Believers: Every Christian has direct access to God and the responsibility to serve Him.

🏡 Family & Social Order

Marriage: Marriage is the uniting of one man and one woman in a lifelong covenant commitment.

Gender Roles: While both men and women are gifted for service in the church, the office of pastor is limited to men as qualified by Scripture.

Sanctity of Life: We believe in the sacredness of human personality and the need to provide for the unborn, the aged, and the helpless.

Why the "2000" Version?

Strengthened Views on the Bible: It removed ambiguous language to clarify that the Bible is "truth without any mixture of error."

Cultural Clarity: It added specific sections on the family and marriage to address modern social changes.

Pastoral Leadership: It clarified the biblical qualifications for the role of pastor within the local church.
